NSA HR – Northwest MWR Fitness presents The Memorial Day Challenge. One of our most challenging and ultimate physical tests. The challenge takes place May 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the outdoor functional space OP Zone. This unique Memorial Day tradition will take place throughout the United States Navy in May.

The timed work out includes:

  • 1 Mile Run

  • 100 Pull Ups

  • 200 Push Ups

  • 300 Squats

  • 1 Mile Run w/ 20 LB. Vest (20 lb. Weight vest is optional)

The Memorial Day Challenge is a workout dedicated to Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan June 28, 2005.  This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he named it "Body Armor”.  From that time on, it has been referred to as "Murph" in honor of this focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country.
