Get your New Year’s resolution on track with NSA Mechanicsburg MWR Fitness! Take on the 15th Annual Iron Fit Tri-Challenge. Participants have between Monday, January 12 and Monday, February 23 to complete a set mileage of running, rowing, or swimming, and biking. Prizes will be awarded upon completion. All miles must be completed at the Fitness Center or pool at the YMCA. You will have a weekly log sheet, that will be collected at the end of the day Tuesday of the following week. You are responsible for logging your distances after each workout.
The three distance options are:
Olympic: 6.2-miles running, 1,500-meters swimming or 6,000-meters rowing, and 24.8-miles biking
Half Ironfit: 13.1-miles running, 1,900-meters swimming or 7,600-meters rowing, and 56-miles biking
Ironfit: 26.2-miles running, 3,800-meters swimming or 15,200-meters rowing, and 112-miles biking
Exceptions for the swim: If you are not a swimmer or do nothave access to a pool, indoor rowing is the alternative and the distances have been listed accordings.
For the bike portion: You can use any bike in the gym – spin bike, recumbent, upright, or rental bicycle.
Exceptions for the run: If the treadmill causes you join discomfort, you may use an elliptical or stepper machine in its place. Make sure you track your distances on the display.
